Easter Goodness

Easter is another holiday that I LOVE, I won't go into the details as to why because let's face it I don't want to bore you to death. Like with every holiday we decorate sugar cookies, still one of my favorite traditions. The kids were surprisingly spectacular in helping out this holiday unlike Valentines Day, perhaps it was because I didn't make 5 zillion cookies so we each only had a few to frost. We had to keep the sprinkles away from Kan and limit the frosting but other than that it was an overall "delicious" event. Dying easter eggs with a 2 year old was not so wonderful, it would be what I consider a colorful disaster. Kaleb, Kennedy, and Paul made some incredibly awesome eggs. As most of you know everything in our household becomes quite the competition and is only getting more fierce as the kids grow in age. The only thing missing this Easter from our little house was Miss Dani, she spent the holiday with her mom, we sure hate not having her around especially during the holidays.

Kaleb had a rough morning after that darn Easter bunny hid his basket too good and he couldn't find it, he became increasingly frustrated. Kennedy lent a helping hand and was able to help him retrieve his surprise. Kan was over the moon excited over his new fishing pole and squirt guns. Each kid got something they loved, Kaleb got waders to go fly fishing and Kennedy a volleyball/net and they all got oodles of candy. Easter day itself was a true blessing, the weather was amazing. Paul was kind enough to set up Kennedy's new volleyball net (which still resides in our front yard). Kennedy and I gave those boys a run for their money when we beat them by a rather large point margin, yep more competition. We later went to a nice dinner at the Colosimo house and played some crouquet, I won of course. Paul, Aunt Tami, and I hid almost 100 easter eggs for the kids to find, they not only had a blast they found every single egg! Kan was delighted and carried his heavy overfilled basket around with pride. What a wonderful holiday we had, these memories I will treasure long after the Easter bunny doesn't hide baskets anymore and no one wants to decorate mom's sugar cookies. I am so thankful for my little family and the joy they add to the holidays.
